DESCRIPTION
The five Platonic solids are the only possible three-dimensional geometric shapes in which all edges and all internal angles are equal. Each of these solids is associated with a corresponding element: the octahedron with Air, the tetrahedron with Fire, the cube (hexahedron) with Earth, the dodecahedron with Aether or Space, and the icosahedron with Water. In written works of sacred geometry, from a deeply philosophical perspective, a model of the world’s structure can be found in which the Platonic solids are nested within one another in the aforementioned hierarchical order.
